All Nagaland Open Badminton Championship concludes

Kohima, Oct. 25 (EMN):  The three-day 2nd edition of All Nagaland Open Badminton Championship organised by the Crescent Club, culminated at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, in Kohima on October 25.

The players competed in various categories in the competition for a total cash prize of INR 1.30 lakh.

In amateur men’s double, Lima and Temjen emerged as winners by beating Chathavizo and Neiphrezo (22-21 against 20-5). In mixed doubles, Zhakou and Chubanungla defeated Ankur and Ekumyala (17-21-21 against 21-19-7), while in men’s double, Riku Khape and Zhakou beat Zuchapemo and Kilangkuma (21-22 against 16-20).

In the 95+ category, I Temjen and Nochet beat Arep and Molong, while Angam and Nochet defeated I Temjen and Peizo in 85+ category.

During the inaugural function on Oct. 23, Temjen, president of Crescent Club, Kohima had said that many players from the state do not get the privilege to play at the regional and national level which is why the club organised the tournament to provide platform them.

A total of 106 players registered for the sporting event.
