????????????????????????????????????

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 7 : With many controversial issues associated with the State Education department that find place in the newspapers everyday, Commissioner & Secretary for School Education and SCERT FP Solo today admitted that ‘all is not well in the Education department’.

Speaking at the inaugural programme of the Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship here, Solo said though the department is not responding to all the related issues in a similar manner, it does not imply that it is immune, indifferent and not concerned to the things happening.
Naga society, he felt, is very good at finding faults at others while failing to notice the better and positive aspect of a person, things and life. While asserting that ‘no one is perfect but neither completely imperfect’, he said people need to learn to look at the brighter aspects of things.

Solo asserted that the Education department is trying to make changes for the better and to address the related problems in the best possible way, despite facing many constraints and challenges. However, he maintained that no one seems to notice the positive changes happening in the department, nor does it get reported in the media.

Also, noting that Naga students are not faring well in the entrance exams in various fields, Solo said the department is trying its best to build a strong foundation for the students, especially with regard to the subjects of Mathematics and Science.
