All India Cooperative Week celebrated in Jalukie, Tuensang
DIMAPUR — The 70th All India Cooperative Week was celebrated at Women Welfare Hall, Jalukie town, on Monday.
The event, organised by the assistant registrar of cooperative societies, Peren, saw the attendance of the ADC Peren and administrator of Peren Town Council, Keyiranding Hegui, as the special guest, according to a DIPR report.
In his speech, Hegui discussed the economic progress in other states and encouraged the societies to work diligently, highlighting the government’s support.
He emphasised the importance of valuing their economy and realising its potential. Furthermore, Hegui urged the societies to avoid mismanagement of government funds, stressing the need for transparency and accountability to advance the district.
He also reminded attendees of the upcoming Winter Carnival-cum-Orchid Festival, scheduled from December 6 to December 10 at Carnival village, Tepuiki-Peren, and added that interested societies can take part in the event.
Earlier, Zaevituo Angami, SRCS in charge, and ARCS Peren, in his keynote address expressed gratitude to the cooperators for their attendance and outlined the various topics, objectives, and achievements for the week-long programme, as well as future strategies.
Tuensang: Tuensang commemorated the 70th All India Cooperative Week on November 20 at CKS Hall, Tuensang town. The event, organised by the ARCS Tuensang, was attended by the DC Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, as the guest of honour.
In her address, Rutsa highlighted the importance of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations and pointed out the widespread presence of registered societies in every village of the Tuensang district, noting that while numerous societies exist, several demonstrate no performance in transactions.
Rutsa emphasised Tuensang’s potential in organic vegetable production and encouraged self-help groups (SHGs) to specialise in a single product. She advised them to establish marketing linkages to improve the economic status of societies.
Additionally, she urged the implementation of all central programmes in the district to ensure extensive benefits for the local community.
