Dimapur, Aug. 16 (EMN): Nauseated by the incorrigible attitude of tossing rubbish from cars plaguing the land, women members of Kohima Alibalar Telongjem (KAT)- a Kohima-based society of Aliba village in Mokokchung district, have come out with an innovative eco-friendly trash bags for cars.

With the objective to provide appropriate means of waste disposal to protect the environment, the 24 members have decided to design and make trash bags for cars after a long deliberation on May 2, 2019.

A DIPR report stated that the bags are made of washable cloth material and are designed in a way that the storage space can hold empty water bottles and other litter. The members have distributed about 100 bags so far, the report stated.

One of the members pointed out that through the project, the group wanted to encourage women folks of their village by creating awareness about environmental damage caused by litter.

KAT is trying to reach out to as many people as possible so as to make the people think carefully before tossing another item out the window or looking the other way when someone else does and to consider the impact that they can make on the environment by disposing off wastes properly, the report added.
