[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]ankee slugger Alex Rodriguez has split with his girlfriend of over three years, Torrie Wilson, Page Six has exclusively confirmed. We’re told that A-Rod and Wilson, a model, actress and former WWE Diva, have broken up because the third baseman wasn’t willing to commit, and also because his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis, still plays a large role in his life.
One source said, “Alex and Torrie would fight over his flirtations with other women, and he wasn’t ready to settle down again,” while another source said that he and Cynthia — whom he has two daughters with and divorced in 2008 — have remained close.
The second source added, “Cynthia continues to play a large role in Alex’s personal life and business affairs, even though she recently got engaged to someone else.”
Rodriguez and superfit Wilson, both 39, began dating in late 2011 and were often seen working out together. Wilson is popular in the Yankee organization, as she was seen as a “good, calming influence” over Rodriguez. A Yankee source said, “Torrie is a lovely girl. The last thing Alex needs now is to be single, dating and distracted by women.”
We’re told that following their split, Wilson has remained in Los Angeles, where she is working on her acting career, while Rodriguez has been in Miami. “He’s focusing on baseball,” another source in his camp insisted.
Rodriguez will be under the microscope when he arrives at spring training later this month. He was suspended all of last season for his involvement in Biogenesis, which supplied banned performance-enhancing drugs to players.
He missed most of the 2013 season recovering from surgery on his left hip.
“I think it’s only fair to see where he’s at, physically,” manager Joe Girardi told The Post in January. “We have to take our time and not make an evaluation too early in spring training, because he hasn’t played a lot in the last year and a half.”
A rep for Rodriguez declined to comment Tuesday night, while a manager for Wilson didn’t get back to us.
