Mokokchung, April 04 (EMN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), has appealed the state government to clarify whether the statement made by the minister on the floor of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly regarding the issue of “Naga Flag and Constitution” was “factually said by the Union Home minister” or not, reportedly during a meeting, where the CM of Nagaland was also said to be present.
“Clear all doubts once and for all,” the AKM stated.
In a press release, the AKM stated that they have been cautiously observing the sequence of proceedings that followed after the remarks made by minister Temjen Imna Along, on the Indo-Naga Political issue at the recently concluded session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
In this regard, the AKM asked all the stakeholders engaged in active negotiation with the government of India, including the state government, to enlighten the general Naga mass on the status of the talks as Naga to clear the dilemma arising from the ambiguity of the issue.
AKM also maintained that as an organisation from its inception it has been a strong believer in the Nagas’ Right for self-determination and has adopted a resolution during its Platinum Jubilee (2004) to support the peace process in bringing about a solution acceptable to all.
Since then, AKM has time and again resolved and supported the peace process, which continues to this date, it stated.
