AKM organises legal awareness programme

Mokokchung, Sep. 26 (EMN): Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), in collaboration with the Mokokchung district legal service authority (MDLSA), organised a legal awareness programme in its conference hall on September 25.

Resource person and panel lawyer, Mapujungla Pongen, while explaining on the working system of the legal service authority, apprised the participants to create awareness on different schemes relating to social welfare, health and family welfare, National Food Security Act and RTE.

She also sensitized the participants about the role of Ashas under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) and the benefits of pregnant women under the scheme. Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK) scheme is aimed at promoting safe institutional deliveries, free medical treatment to pregnant women, infants and other non-communicable diseases.

She further stressed on Ayushman Bharat- a flagship scheme to achieve universal health coverage. She added that Pradhan Mantra Jan Arogya Yojana provides cashless cover of INR 5 lakh per family, who are registered under the socio-economic and caste census of 2011.

Topic on Lok Adalat, social welfare schemes, domestic violence, national food security Act, FIR, RTI were covered by panel lawyers namely Tajungla Longkumer and Purnungsang Jamir.
