AKM detects over hundred ILP defaulters

Mokokchung, Aug. 7 (EMN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has detected over hundred illegal immigrants including ILP defaulters, AKM Census Card defaulters and expired AKM Census Card defaulters during a surprise checking conducted around Mokokchung town on Wednesday.

The AKM officials informed this to media persons during a press conference at AKM president’s chambers.

AKM vice president, Sunglem Walling, said the endeavour ‘Survival Mokokchung’ campaign so far had bored fruits since its inception in 2007.

AKM president, Imkongwati, said that prior information about the surprising checking exercise as part of the ‘Mokokchung Survival was intimated to the district administration adding defaulters, if any, would be surrender to the administration for necessary action.

They added that AKM officials along with volunteers and executives members conducted the checking in 18 Wards under Mokokchung today and detected over hundred defaulters including ILP defaulters, AKM Census Card defaulters and expired AKM Census Card among the ILP holders.

They informed that some of the defaulters do not even have identity card or Aadhaar and other documents to support their credentials.

In Mokokchung town alone, AKM has so far issued 2327 students’ census card till date, it was informed.

AKM vice president also disclosed that AKM Census Card has been issued by students body after consultation with the district administration to monitor illegal immigrants in Mokokchung district. Stating that students body alone cannot tackle the mushrooming of illegal immigrants in Mokokchung, AKM has appealed every individual to take upon the responsibility to flush out illegal migrant from the district.

“We need your unflinching support for our survival and for the glory of our posterity,” AKM leader appealed.

‘Mokokchung Survival’ campaign was conceived to evict ‘Illegal Immigrants’ from Mokokchung district to bring about social change.
