The KMSS strongly condemns the recent attack on Sharifuddin, a resident of Karimganj district of Assam who was allegedly arrested by Nagaland police in case of rape,” the organization stated. “The KMSS condemns any case of rape and believes that punishment should be given to convicted people.”However, the organization stated, the recent incident involving the unfortunate death of Sharifuddin only indicates “how vulnerable people of Assam in Nagaland.”
“There are regular reports of threats to business community from Assam in Nagaland. The KMSS strongly appeals to Nagaland government to ensure safety of people from Assam in Nagaland,” it stated.

Such claims are ‘undemocratic and irrational and will create distance between Naga and the Assamese community,’ the organization stated in its press release.
