DIMAPUR — Akashvani Kohima on Wednesday conducted a refresher course for dialect news presenters at the conference hall of Red Cross Complex in Kohima.
An update from Akashvani Kohima stated that the refresher course was organised by Programme Section in order to equip the presenters about programming and also help them meet the challenges ahead, particularly with the merger of the programme contents and origination of a single channel which would come into effect from July 1.
It stated that officers from Akashvani Kohima, who were the resource persons, have emphasised on the importance of communication skills as there are many listeners from rural areas, who listen to the news and programmes. The resource persons also highlighted on the importance of news, style of presentations of the programmes and stressed on the need for the presenters to give efforts in promoting the radio programmes. The participants were also encouraged to pursue the production of programmes.
The topics covered included importance of programmes in Akashvani Kohima, Do’s and Don’ts in broadcasting, official procedures and etiquettes, importance of news in Akashvani, live presentation of news, commercial and social media.
The participants also held an interaction session with the resource persons.
