Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): All India Malayali Association (AIMA) Nagaland Chapter, in Association with Kerala Samajam Dimapur, celebrated ‘Kerala Piravi’ or Statehood Day of Kerala on November 1 in the office of Kerala Samajam, Midland, Dimapur.
Highlights of the celebration included exhibition of cartoons by famous cartoonist, Sudheernath, and vintage photographs depicting the culture, community life, socio-political events of Kerala state in the past decades, said general secretary of AIMA Nagaland Reji Abraham in an update.
Nalina Kumar, president of Kerala Samajam Dimapur, inaugurated the cartoon and photo exhibition, while the general secretary of AIMA Nagaland Reji Abraham delivered the welcome address. The exhibition would be opened to the public till November 3.
A quiz competition would also be conducted for the school children and youth on Kerala’s culture, history, literature and language on November 3 at Kerala Samajam auditorium, Dimapur.
All India Malayali Association -- an umbrella organisation of Malayali spread across the country, is working for the welfare and uplift of Corallites living all over India. As part of its effort to spread the vibrant culture and heritage of Kerala among the new generation of Keralites, the photo-cum-cartoon exhibition is being organised all across the country in 55 centres. AIMA also aims to create a Guinness world record in “Largest simultaneous photography exhibition” category.
