Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): Aienla Jamir has been inducted as the national secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) mahila morcha, becoming the first woman from Nagaland and the only woman from the entire northeast India to be inducted in the national mahila morcha during the current tenure.
Aienla Jamir is a former member of state BJP disciplinary action committee, core committee member, and co-incharge of Phek district. An update from BJP Nagaland media cell stated that by virtue of her post, she has become the ex-officio member with entitlement to all official party programmes and meetings.
It mentioned that Aienla joined active politics as a BJP member in 1998 and remained loyal to the party with no other political affiliation whatsoever till date. It added that she has been inducted into the national level in recognition of her dedication and loyalty.
Nagaland BJP president and minister, Temjen Imna Along, along with the state office bearers made a courtesy visit to Aienla Jamir at her residence in Dimapur to felicitate her achievement.
Imna Along remarked that her appointment at the national level as mahila secretary, representing Nagaland and the entire North eastern region, was a proud moment for BJP Nagaland in particular.
Imna Along said, "Your role will not only be of Nagaland but also for the whole of Northeast. And BJP Nagaland will provide its relentless support to you."
He also appealed Aienla Jamir to project Nagaland BJP in positive light at the national level and also conveys the message to Delhi that the coalition partnership of PDA government would complete its full term.
"BJP shall stand by the alliance as long as centre directs us to be", Imna Along stated and wished her the best in her future endeavours as the national secretary of Mahila Morcha.
Meanwhile, Aienla Jamir has affirmed to work hard to take BJP forward in the best of her capacity. She extended her gratitude to the state president and his team of office bearers, state mahila president and her general secretary for their visit.
She further assured to continue giving full support to Nagaland BJP all times to come.
