AIDA-SBI Gram Seva observes World Olympic Day

Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) – Don Bosco, the implementing SBI Gram Seva programme in Dimapur, Nagaland, celebrated World Olympic Day with the remedial students of five adopted villages – Khriezephe, Diezephe, Urra, Bade and Tsithrongse.

AIDA, through SBI Gram Seva, took the initiative to observe World Olympic Day by giving an opportunity to celebrate the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect regardless of age, gender, social background or sporting ability, a press release informed. It may be mentioned that World Olympic Day is celebrated every year on June 23 to highlight the importance of sports and games in our lives. The idea of celebrating an Olympic Day was adopted at the 42nd IOC session in St. Moritz in January 1948 and since then, the date has been chosen to celebrate, by giving attention to all athletes and giving the opportunity to bring honour to their nation.
