AIDA conducts capacity building training for eco clubs
DIMAPUR — Under the ‘Action for Protection of Environment in Northeast India Region (APENIR) programme, the Eco Club of ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco, Dimapur, organised a capacity building training for the office bearers of eight Eco Clubs from eight different schools within Dimapur city, at the head office, AIDA, on Monday.
A total of 32 participants (16 boys and 16 girls), comprising four office bearers from each eco club along with three accompanying teachers, attended the training, an update stated.
In his message, the executive director of AIDA, Rev. Fr. Roy George, highlighted the pressing environmental concerns and the need to act responsibly as individuals and as clubs. He reminded the students that they are the future leaders and exhorted them to give their best in leading their eco clubs, schools and localities as leaders.
Sebi Chacko (coordinator of job placement, AIDA) and Mark Lanthou Gonmei (project manager, SBI Gram Sakhsam) were the resource persons for the training. The topics they covered were ‘Knowledge on environment protection and leadership skills’ and ‘Caring for our surrounding and environment,’ respectively.
The programme coordinator of APENIR, PM Joachim, instructed the office bearers of their roles and responsibilities, what activities to carry out and how to maintain records of their activities.
