‘AHIBO’ promises to deliver mobility solution in Dimapur
Eastern Mirror Desk
Dimapur, Aug. 22: Some of the major problems in urban and sub-urban settings include heavy traffic, lack of parking space, and easy mobility while travelling. Those were some of the factors that prompted three youth in Dimapur to start an environment-friendly delivery and taxi service called ‘AHIBO’ in the commercial hub by employing e-scooters (two-wheelers) for their service.
The AHIBO team saw an opportunity in an initiative the government of India is undertaking in regards to promoting e-mobility for green energy. “It is an opportunity for the state to get on the bandwagon with the rest of the world in terms of going green for the environment,” said a member of AHIBO, who did not wish to be named.
Currently, AHIBO is the only company in the Northeast using e-transport for delivery and taxi services. Another member said that the team would like to enlighten the public about the use and benefits of e-vehicles; and even asked them to be part of the AHIBO team. “People can join the team if they have any e-vehicle, and also earn,” said the member.
When asked if scooters would be the best option considering the dust and road conditions, the member agreed that it might not be the best option when it comes to dust, or even during monsoon. He however opined that the distance between various locations in Dimapur are quite short, and for that, scooters would be much cheaper and quicker.
Also, considering the unemployment problem in Nagaland, the AHIBO team pointed out that it could provide employment opportunities to Naga youth.
The company is providing delivery services for any products, including food, for a flat rate of INR 50 in and around Dimapur town, and will start a taxi service soon.
