Agro-food processing machineries distributed at Jalukie

Dimapur: The Department of Land Resources, Peren district, organised an inauguration-cum-distribution programme of Agro-Food Processing Machines under Livelihood, Micro-Enterprises and Business Development component of PMKSY- WDC 2.0 villages at DPO Office, Jalukie town, on Monday.

District Project Officer, LRD, Alemla Aier in her keynote address explained about the importance of cultivating entrepreneurial skill to the villagers. She also emphasised on the objective of the department in promoting three Es i.e., Economy, Ecology and Equity, a DIPR report stated.

Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Vineet Kumar, in his address said the department of Land Resources is very active and pro-farmers oriented and that the works and activities carried out by the department are well-organised and result oriented. Reacting to the DPO’s remarks, the DC pointed out that an additional ‘E’ should also be included in its objective, which is culturing the ‘Entrepreneurial Capacity’ of the stakeholders.

The Deputy Commissioner also inaugurated and distributed the multi-purpose solar dryer, vegetable oil expeller and rice huller machines to the stakeholders of PMKSY-WDC 2.0.

New Jalukie Village Council chairman, Liangkebo in his sharing stated that the department is doing a tremendous job in bringing about much required changes to New Jalukie Micro Watershed and PMKSY- WDC 2.0 villages in general.

The programme was chaired by Inspector, LRD, Rongsenkaba, while dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Pastor Ihusing.
