Agri dept bids adieu to its director

A farewell programme was organised by the department of Agriculture at the conference hall, Directorate of Agriculture on Wednesday in honour of EH Lotha, director of agriculture who has completed 35 years of tireless and dedicated service to the department.The programme was chaired by I Panger, Director of agriculture, Nagaland. A brief profile of the officer was presented by Tekatoshi Ao, Addl. Director.
EH Lotha hails from Lakhuti village, Wokha district. He joined into government service as lecturer IETC, Medziphema on July 4, 1978 and after rendering service in different capacities, he retired as Director of Agriculture on July 31, 2013.
He organised Nagaland Agriculture Graduate Association (NAGA) and became the first president in 1986. He was also awarded the Governors Commendation Certificate on January 26, 2012 for his meritorious service in the department.
Addl. director of Agriculture N Tekatushi Ao on behalf of the department expressed gratitude to the outgoing director for taking up various innovative agricultural development during his tenure and congratulated him on attaining 35 years of service and wished him and his family good health and happy retired life.
The departmental officers in their farewell speeches lauded and appreciated his dynamic leadership, optimistic outlook, farsighted vision for Agricultural development and his statesmanship.
Special song was presented by the directorate officers and officers and staff of DAO, Kohima.
The outgoing director in his speech thanked the departmental officers and staff for their cooperation and unity in discharging their duties.
He further encouraged the officers and staff to keep up the team spirit so that the department can achieve “Vision 2025 – Food for all”. The chairman pronounced the vote of thanks and the programme concluded with a mass prayer.
