Aghunato area GBs resolve for Naga unity
Dimapur, July 17 (EMN): The village chiefs of Aghunato area, the erstwhile un-administered area under NEFA, resolved to unanimously to support the Naga Hoho to strengthen the peace process and to pursue the unity among the Naga community.
The resolution to this effect was taken during its consultative meeting wherein the house discussed on prevailing Naga peace process vis-à-vis Naga tribal hohos in pursuance of one goal and one nation. The house was of the opinion that the Nagas are one and there cannot be different opinion in pursuance of common goal. In this regard, it unanimously resolved to support the Naga Hoho to strengthen the peace process and to pursue the unity among the Naga community.
The Aghunato area GBs’ union general secretary, Kivito Awomi, claimed that the first Indo-Naga battle took place under Aghunato area (Aghushito sub-division) where several villages were burnt down to ashes and so many precious lives were lost for the cause of Indo-Naga political solution.
Basing on the historical record, the area GBs appealed to all the tribal hohos to come together in unity and fight against the unseen forces confronting the Naga society today.
