DIMAPUR — A three-day 3rd biennial women conference of the Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN) held at Life Spring Corner, Dimapur, concluded on October 8.
An update from the association stated that 344 delegates from 46 Gorkha churches in Nagaland attended the conference, which was held on the theme ‘Deeper walk with God.’
The main speakers were Rita Kabo, advocate, educator, Bible teacher and counselor from Kathmandu, Nepal; Kakheli Inato Jimomi, SDWM of WSBAK; and Beena Thapa, AGBCN women secretary. They spoke on the theme of the conference and encouraged the participants have the passion for dignity of labour.
Exhibition of Gorkha culture, hymnal choral competition, cultural dance competition and secretary report competition were other highlights of the conference.
AGBCN women secretary, Beena Thapa, encouraged the women to stand firm in their commitment until the next youth conference in 2025.
It stated that DTNBC Duncan won the first prize in hymnal choral competition, while the second and third prizes were won by NBC Kohima and NBC Kiphire respectively. DTNBC Duncan also won the first prize in cultural dance competition, while NBC GBC Diphupar and NBC Chümoukedima won the second and third prizes respectively.
In secretary report competition, GBC Mon won the first prize, while NBC Chümoukedima and GBC Tseminyu won the second and third prizes respectively.
