After ‘skill mela,’ Kiphire hosts livelihood workshop
Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): A workshop on skills and livelihood generation was conducted on July 10 in the office of the Kiphire deputy commissioner.
The government’s publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), issued on Wednesday updates about the workshop.
According to the IPR, a “skill-landscape” of the district was presented by Viliho Awomi, women welfare officer. The official said that the Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) was generally an empowerment centre for women; it is administered by the state government.
The MSK was established in Kiphire this year in the month of March, she said. There are 118 government schools in Kiphire district where 29 are private schools, the updates stated.
Further, Awomi said that the department of Employment Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and the State Rural Livelihood Mission organised this year a “skill mela” at Pungro and Kiphire. It was organised in partnership with the district administration, she was quoted as having said at the event.
During the event, the IPR added, twelve training partners attended and imparted different skills to young people in how they can be self-reliant in the future.
