Dimapur, July 24 (EMN): In exercise of the powers conferred by the Nagaland Epidemic Disease (Covid-19) Regulations, 2020, the department of Health and Family Welfare has issued an advisory for patients coming to Nagaland for treatment of non-Covid-19 illnesses.
The advisory was urged all such patients to strictly adhere to its guidelines.
According to the directive, all such patients should produce documents at the point of entry as well as at the hospital. The documents should include negative Covid-19 test report done by real time RT-PCR (Gold Test) of the patient.
Besides, it should include acceptance letter from the referring-in hospital (i.e) the hospital where patient would be treated. It stated that only one attendant per patient at a time would be allowed inside the ward during hospitalisation.
It stated that in the course of hospitalisation, Covid-19 testing by rapid antigen test or by TrueNat would be conducted. In this regard, patient and their attendant(s) would be tested between 5th to 10th day of their arrival.
If any patient or their attendant(s) develop any sign/symptoms of ILI, SARI or Covid-19, the hospital should immediately report to the district surveillance unit and such cases would subsequently be immediately kept in isolation till the lab result is made available. If tested positive of Covid-19, all such cases would be transferred to Covid Care Centre or Covid-19 hospital as the case may be.
All patients and their attendant(s) should wear face mask at all time and strictly adhere to all preventive measures.
The hospital should maintain a detailed record of all patients and their attendant(s) from outside the state and submit to the Chief Medical Officer weekly.
It also asked them to contact the state toll-free health helpline at 1800-345-0019 for any queries.
