Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): While appreciating  Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for upgrading eight government high schools (GHS) to government higher secondary schools (GHSS),  Advisor of School Education, KT Sukahlu, cautioned that the government would not hesitate to downgrade those schools that do not produce good results.

Sukhalu stated this during inauguration of a newly upgraded Government Higher Secondary School in Akuluto town on September 16 in the presence of Kazheto Kinimi, advisor of NSDMA and CAWD. He encouraged parents to send their children to government schools stating that the state government aims at providing good and free education to all the students, a DIPR report stated.

He requested the elders and various organisations to support the teachers during good and bad times so that they could teach their children with full dedication and sincerity. He also sought support towards the school education committee in order to produce good results.

To the teaching faculty, he requested them to be sincere and honest in their profession stating that the students would never succeed in future if their foundation is weak or poor.

Also speaking at the function, the director of School Education Wonthungo Tsopoe said the school was upgraded with a belief that Akuluto Higher Secondary School would produce good results and good leaders and also to bring good education facilities at their doorstep.

In this regard, he requested the education committee and teachers to be committed in their assigned responsibilities and fulfil the department’s expectations.

Advisor of NSDMA and CAWD, Kazheto Kinimi thanked the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, and KT Sukhalu for making the dreams of the people of Akuluto and surrounding villages a reality. He also requested the people of his constituency to leave aside political differences and come together in order to bring more development.
