DIMAPUR — Advisor of Election and Tribal Affairs, H Tovihoto Ayemi, held an informal discussion with the Commissioner of Police, Kevithuto Sophie, and the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, at his residence in Thahekhu village on Saturday to take stock on prevailing overall law and order situation in Dimapur.

An update from the media cell of the advisor stated the discussion also focused on various developmental and social issues in regards to the well-being of the citizens.

It stated that Tovihoto has appreciated the efforts of the concerned authorities on effective policing and administration in ensuring peace and security of the people.

Meanwhile, in view of recent developments regarding the reported influx of illegal immigration into Nagaland, the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, on Saturday taken swift and decisive action to strengthen border security and prevent further illegal entry.

A DIPR report stated that it has intensified checking of movement at inter-state entry points/check gates, activation of three checking counters at Dimapur railway station and enhanced surveillance and monitoring at all entry points.
