Advisor K Konngam Konyak inaugurates Peren Treasury Office.

DIMAPUR — The Peren Treasury Office, constructed under the State Development Fund, was officially inaugurated by Advisor for Treasuries & Accounts and Art & Culture, K Konngam Konyak on Thursday, in the presence of director, Treasuries & Accounts, ADC Peren and other district officials.
In his inaugural address, the advisor emphasised the need to safeguard and properly utilise government properties, expressing concern over public negligence towards such assets, a DIPR report stated.
Highlighting the progress in Peren district, particularly in road infrastructure, Konngam expressed satisfaction over the significant developmental changes witnessed over the years.
He also underscored the vast agricultural potential of the district, stating that its fertile land, if effectively developed, can ensure economic self-sufficiency and contribute to the food security of the state.
He urged the people to focus on productive land use rather than relying on government services and contract works.

He also expressed concern over low enrolment in ITI centres in Peren district and stressed the importance of vocational training for skill development and self-reliance.
Calling for a shift from short-term thinking, the advisor appealed to the public not to leave land resources idle and to adopt innovative approaches for sustainable development.
Speaking on behalf of the district administration, ADC Peren, D Robin, stated that the shifting of the Peren Treasury Office from Old Peren town to the new district headquarters marks a significant and well-planned milestone.
The ADC noted that the relocation will enhance administrative efficiency and facilitate smoother financial transactions, benefiting officials and staff in discharge of their duties.
Robin emphasised that the Treasury office plays a vital role in ensuring proper functioning of all departments, particularly in maintaining accounts and carrying out official financial activities.
He appreciated the officers and staff for their dedication in making the office operational.
The programme was chaired by Director of Treasuries & Accounts, Amenla Jamir, who also delivered the opening remarks followed by a brief history of the office presented by Additional Director, Vechiso Chakhesang.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Treasury Officer Itingaule Mpon.
