Advisor Keoshu inaugurates Morung in Sangphur

DIMAPUR — Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung on Tuesday inaugurated a Morung house at Limtsang Awun Kheang Sangphur Sangkong Yam in Sangphur village under Shamator district.

Speaking on the inaugural occasion, the special guest highlighted the importance of preserving the rich cultural and traditional values. Pointing out that the Morung is an integral part of village since time immemorial; he thanked the Limtsang Awun Khel for preserving and promoting the aged old tradition, stated a DIPR report.

The programme was chaired by R Throngshe, planning committee member, while a prayer was said by SK Zungkum, church secretary, and a song was presented by Keho and friends.

During the event, short speeches were also delivered by K Throngsomong, secretary of planning committee; K Lakiumong, head GB; and K Kehomong, member of planning committee.

The significance of Morung hall was highlighted by K Ritsu, senior citizen, while the vote of thanks was delivered by R Ahoshe and concluded with a benediction said by Nochitla, women pastor.
