Advisor Kazheto Kinimi inaugurates new directorate building of veterinary deptartment
DIMAPUR — Advisor of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Kazheto Kinimi, inaugurated the new directorate building of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences at Phezoucha in Kohima on Friday.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Kinimi has termed as a ‘red letter day’ for the department and expressed gratitude to Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for prioritising and ensuring the completion of the new directorate building.
Kinimi expressed hope that the new building would foster positive work culture among officers and staff and called upon them on the need for result-oriented efforts. He also encouraged everyone to work with renewed energy and motivation in order to usher in a new era of excellence and performance.
Appreciating the engineering wing and the contractor, Kinimi commended their efforts in completing the project with commendable workmanship. As part of the inaugural ceremony, he also released the 20th Livestock Census Report.
The director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Dr. Nsanthung Ezung, provided insights into the journey leading to the construction of the new directorate building. He outlined the reasons behind the initiative, including the instability of the old building, its distant proximity to the New Secretariat Complex and issues related to space congestion.
According to him, the construction was initiated on May 18, 2013, which concluded on May 29, 2021, with formal occupancy on April 5, 2023.
The secretary of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB), Henok Phom, expressed gratitude for the space allotted in the new building for the functioning of NSSB office. He highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the two offices in the future.
The inaugural program was chaired by the additional director and managing director of NSDCF, Dr. Khriekuolie Linyu, while a song was presented by Mengu Suokhrie. The dedicatory prayer was said by Mhonchumo S Lotha, pator of Kohima Lotha Baptist Church, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by additional director and managing director of NLDB, Dr. Achila Ao.
