Advisor, Industries & Commerce department, Hekani Jakhalu called on Union Minister of MSME, Narayan Tatu Rane and Union Minister of State, MSME, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma in New Delhi.
DIMAPUR — Advisor, Industries & Commerce department, Hekani Jakhalu, called on Union Minister of MSME, Narayan Tatu Rane and Union Minister of State, MSME, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, on May 17 in New Delhi.
During the meetings with the two Union ministers, the advisor discussed with them issues relating to the MSME sector and growth potentials in Nagaland state, an update stated.
Jakhalu also submitted a number of proposals which would help to promote and improve the MSME landscape in the state.
The Advisor during her two-day visit to Delhi also called on the Development Commissioner (Handloom & Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, and solicited support for promotion of the sector in the state.
The advisor further held a meeting with Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Pashupati Kumar Paras, during which Jakhalu termed food processing as one of the potential and thrust areas in the state.
She urged upon the Union Minister to consider and support the various upcoming project proposals of the state, which would be placed before the Ministry.
Paras encouraged Nagaland state to submit proposals on projects available under the Ministry and assured approvals.
In addition, the Union Minister disclosed that the Ministry will soon be launching new schemes on Mini-Food Park for which the state may look forward to avail such assistance.
Further, Paras informed that he will be visiting Nagaland tentatively in the month of July this year.
Jakhalu also met with the Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) G Kishan Reddy regarding the prospects and opportunities in the North Eastern Region and Nagaland in particular.
Meanwhile, Jakhalu paid an official visit to the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Textiles, Food Processing Industries, Invest India Team, Start -Up India Team, Department for Promotion of Industries & Internal Trade (DPIIT), DoNER and interacted with the secretaries of the respective Ministries, to discuss ongoing projects and various developmental works to be carried out in the near future.

The Advisor was accompanied by Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, Director of Industries & Commerce, A Temjen Jamir and team of officials from the Department of Industries & Commerce.
