DIMAPUR — Advisor of Land Resources, G Ikuto Zhimomi, inaugurated a coffee washing station at YES Agro Park in Gariphema under Kohima district on Friday. The project was funded by North East Council (NEC).
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the advisor has termed Gariphema village as one of the luckiest villages to avail the facilities and expressed his gratitude to Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for giving him the opportunity to inaugurate the project.
Ikuto thanked the commissioner secretary and all officers of the department for taking extra mile to help the farmers. He informed that the government under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio is giving due importance to the farmers by introducing various agriculture-base crops and machinery for the farmers, stated a DIPR report.
Asserting that coffee is one of world’s most selling cash crops, he informed that the state government is giving importance to coffee growers because it has lots of potential and market avenue globally. Besides, he informed that Nagaland produces organic coffee free from chemicals or pesticides.
The advisor further appealed to the farmers to be hard working and produce quality coffee as the state government has already provided coffee roasting machines and other facilities.
The programme was chaired by Albert Ngullie, director of Land Resource Development, while speech on behalf of the beneficiary was delivered by Vibeilietuo Kets.
A song was presented by Keduolhoukho Kire and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Menuosietuo Tseikha.
