DIMAPUR — The office of the newly created Directorate of Minority Affairs was formally dedicated on September 13 at the Nagaland Commissions’ Complex located behind the Directorate of Social Welfare.
The programme was attended by Imkongmar, advisor of Minority Affairs and Sericulture, as the special guest along with a host of dignitaries, officers and staff of Nagaland Information Commission.
Speaking at the programme, Imkongmar thanked the chief minister for his visionary leadership in creating a separate directorate to implement the various schemes of the ministry for the welfare of the minority communities in the state. He also encouraged the officers and staff to inculcate work culture in the office, stated an update from Minority Affairs.
The programme was chaired by the secretary of Minority Affairs, Obangla Jamir, while the dedicatory prayer was said by Renthungo Ngullie, pastor of Faith Harvest Church.
Shashank Pratap Singh, director of Minority Affairs, delivered the welcome address and also highlighted the various activities of the department and its future course of action.
Meanwhile, the chief information commissioner, I Meyionen Jamir, encouraged the officers and staff to work for the uplift of the various minority communities in Nagaland and contribute their part in the overall development of the state. He further congratulated the department for making the directorate functional in record time.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the joint director.
