Advisor counsels Yimkhiungrü community to avoid evil practices

Dimapur, April 23 (EMN): Advisor of Information and Public Relations (IPR) and Village Guards, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, has appealed to the Yimkhiungrü community residing within Kohima to avoid any evil practices which could create unpleasant situation to the society and bring shamed to the community as a whole.

Keoshu stated this during the 28th general session of the Yimkhiung Union Kohima (YUK) held on April 23 at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. He stated that tribal unions are formed with an objective to help one another in every walk of life and to maintain cordial relationships with the rest of the other Naga tribes, stated a DIPR report.

He encouraged the YUK members to work hard for the uplift of the community without any favoritism as a guardian for its members and to have a spirit of unity among the community for a better future.

The programme was chaired by YUK art and culture secretary, T Pusukhong, while the invocation prayer was said by Wongtokiu, pastor of YBCK, and the welcome address was delivered by YUK president, John Tochingmong.

A song was presented by members of YSUK, while a folk song was presented by Shophu and the group. WYH vice president, Kejingkhum, and YTC secretary, Yinkiu, have also exhorted the gathering during the programme.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by YUK vice president, Akumba.
