The Adventure Club, Changtongya lift up the 10th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2015, here at Multi-Purpose Sport Complex, Mokokchung after defeating Citizen Club Longsa on September 25.
The Champion team walk away with a cash amount of rupees 70000 and the runner up bagged a cash amount of rupees 45000.
In the final match, the well settle team of Changtongya took on the Citizen Club Longsa lightly on the first set which let to its defeat with 20-25. In the second set the Changtongya took the match seriously and equalized the set with 21-25. In tie break the Adventure Club Changtongya again thrashed the Citizen Club Longsa with 14-25 making easy win to claim their triumph.
Earlier, the chief guest of the closing function Khriehu Lizietsu the parliamentary of Youth Resource and MTF & lotteries lauded the organizers (Mokokchung District Volleyball Association)and the family of late Imchaba for their contributing for achieving the milestone in organizing the 10thedition of Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open VolleyBall Trophy.Mentioning that he is also sport lover and even loved to play the game and watches different type of sports, Khriehu said Nagas are athletic and sport loving people and even tend to learn the ropes easily.
He also stressed on the youngsters to take up sports that have the scope to develop them into professionals, since employment opportunities are getting scare. “People who excel in sport are among those enjoyed the highest earning in the worlds,’ he said.
