Administrative Training Institute trains police officers on basic office procedures

DIMAPUR — Five-day training on basic office procedures for six Nagaland Police Service (P) officers commenced on August 22 at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima.


The aim of the training is to equip the NPS (P) trainees with fundamental knowledge and skills to perform their tasks efficiently in their work environment, an update stated.


The topics covered include file management, noting and drafting, national pension system, Nagaland Government Servants’ Conduct Rules 1968, pay fixation etc.

The training course is co-ordinated by Dr. S Rongsen Longkumer, Joint Director, ATI, and the training sessions will be facilitated by experienced resource persons from different departments of the Nagaland Government.


On the first day of the training inauguration programme, V Shashank Shekhar, Director General of ATI, interacted with the trainee NPS (P) officers and had an introductory session with them.


Mentioning that Nagaland Police has a proud tradition of dedication, commitment and hard work, Shekhar stated that they have performed exceptionally well, not only within the state but also when deployed in other states for various duties.


He also stressed the need to safeguard the youth from substance abuse, recommending a balanced approach of awareness and enforcement. Additionally, he urged the trainees to leverage the latest scientific advancements and technology in their investigative work.


The interactive session was also attended by N Moa Longkumer, Joint Director ATI, and Lithrila Sangtam, Under Secretary, P&AR department.
