Dimapur, August 16 (EMN): The Anganwadi house constructed at Tamlu village under RD block Tamlu in convergence with Social Welfare Department was inaugurated by ADC Tamlu, T.Renabemo Odyuo on August 14, in the presence of EAC, BDO, CDPO Tamlu, VCC, VCMs, Church leaders and a host of village elders.
The chief guest urged the gathering to make best use of the building. He also expressed contended that after so many years of the existence of ICDS program in the state, a ‘pucca’ building of anganwadi has finally come up under a very special programme of convergence between RD and Social Welfare departments.
He also donated a sum of Rs.5000/- to purchase a fan, which he felt, was important for the children in view of hot climate.
EAC Tamlu, Nukshi Mathong also exhorted the gathering by emphasising on the need to improve in service delivery at the Anganwadi centre.
The program was led by S. Samuel Phom, BDO Tamlu, who also presented the technical report of the newly built house.
CDPO Tamlu, T.Longlang Phom, who proposed vote of thanks, also highlighted the six services under ICDS programme and asked the villagers to avail the benefit from the centre through the AW workers who are professionally trained health workers and stated that SNP is only one part of the six services in ICDS scheme.
