ADC Mokokchung notifies on ULB elections

The additional deputy commissioner and administrator of Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), Chumlamo Humtsoe, on Tuesday issued notification for nomination to the election of Mokokchung Town Municipality.

Humtsoe informed that election to ward nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 17 would be conducted to the Mokokchung town municipality with reservation for women under ward no. 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18. He added that nomination papers should be delivered by the candidate or his/ her proposer to the returning officer between 11 am and 3 pm on any day (other than public holiday) from April 3 but not later than April 10 up to 3 pm. It added that forms of nomination papers could be obtained from his office.

The notification stated that the nomination papers would be taken up for scrutiny on April 12 and 13. Withdrawal of candidature has been set on April 24 at 3 pm.

In the event of the election being contested, the poll would be conducted on May 16 from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Mokokchung
