Dimapur, May 24 (EMN): Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Chozuba has directed all the villages under Chozuba sub-division to activate their respective village disaster management authorities (VDMA) with immediate effect. A DIPR update said that the VDMA may include village health workers and other volunteers. It said that the role and responsibilities of the VDMAs were to assist the government agencies, handling and management of death bodies, monitoring of Covid-19 related cases and coordination with the DTF/BTF, sealing and cordoning of the house in the event of detection of Covid-19 cases on the order of the authority, unsealing of the house in the event of recovery of the patient on the order of the authority, enforcement of government SOPs and guidelines on Covid-19 in the village and dissemination of necessary information in the village.
Any other duties or responsibilities would assigned by the DTF/BTF, it said.
The committee will be provided with PPE kit, gloves, masks, sanitisers, body bag etc. by the Health department through SMO/MO or health workers of the nearest CHC/PHC as and when needed.
