The Act Of Kindness (AOK) Society has announced its 7th edition of Magnum Opus 2021 a yearly art and music festival to be held on October 23 and 25 through an online and offline live event mode.

AOK founder and president, Lenti Aier, informed that the managing committee held its first meeting on September 30 and decided to make certain changes in the event this year considering the pandemic situation.

The festival is being organised to commemorate the ‘International Artist Day’ which falls on October 25. The event is also being organised to encourage local artists and art lovers from all over the state to exhibit their talents and provide platform to exhibit their craftsmanship to the rest of the world, Aier said.

The 7th edition of Magnum Opus would include poetry competition. It informed that along with the first and second prize winners of the painting competition, the best ten artists would get an opportunity to participate in mural and stone painting competitions in Senapati, Manipur.

The Magnum Opus VII 2021 an Art & Music Festival would comprise of painting competition which would be held in offline mode on the theme “Naga folklore” managed by Artsy Naga. The first prize winner would receive INR 10,000 and second prize winner INR 5000.  The registration fee would be INR 500. It informed that stretched canvas would be provided at the Artsy Naga School of Fine Arts near Chekiye Gate in Dimapur at 10 am.

The three winners of mural painting to be held in Senapati, Manipur, would receive cash amount of INR 20,000, INR 15000 and INR 10000 respectively, while the three winners of stone painting would receive cash amount of INR 10000, INR 6000, and INR 4000 respectively. It informed that travels, camping, prizes would be powered and fully sponsored by PK Shedu Resort, Senapati, Aier said. The poetry writing would be held online with a registration fee of INR 100 and for registration, interested person are asked to contact its officials on phone no. +919863367282. The first two winners would receive cash amount of INR 5000 and INR 2000 respectively.

Organisers also informed that original song competition would be held online with a registration fee of INR 500, for which interested participants are asked to contact its officials on phone no. +918787713942 and +919774695861. The winner of the original song contest would be awarded cash amount of INR 10000 besides audio contract with music records, video contract with Richa Productions.

The winner of photography contest would also be conducted online and the two best winners would receive cash award of INR 5000 and INR 2000 respectively. All concerned are asked to contact its officials on phone no. +91 9167538907 for registration.

Organisers also informed that an art demonstration would be conducted offline by various artists on October 23 at Artsy Naga School of Fine Arts at 10 am.

Magnum Opus VII last day on October 25 would witness launch of short folk story “The Sky Bride & Other Tales Retold” by Tialila Kikon at 4 pm along with results declaration and prize distributions at Don Bosco Institute of Development & Leadership.
