Mokokchung, Dec. 29 (EMN): Aces Arena 2021, a dual tournament featuring futsal and Mobile Legends, an online game, was kicked off by Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, MLA as the special guest at Sungratsu High School Ground, Alongchen under Sungratsu village, Mokokchung district on Wednesday.
The special guest in his address said that sports and games such as futsal and online gaming have evolved in the modern age, which is a new trend and observed that futsal is one of those games where the Mongolian race can excel as their physique is well suited for it.
Stating that every team wants to win in a tournament, Aier encouraged that in order to win, one has to be well-disciplined, patient and dedicated with full zeal on all fronts.
“Even though you are playing a small tournament, I believe if you focus on this game with dedication, you would one day reach the top and shine in the international level, therefore, put every ounce of blood, sweat and tears into the game to reach the top level”, he said.
Penlichang, one of the organisers, informed that Aces Arena was started in 2019 by a group of like-minded persons called the Thugs and this year marked the second edition.
‘The tournament aims to promote the young generation in the new trend of sports and games, both in the field as well as in the virtual world of online gaming’, he said.
20 teams are registered for the futsal competition while 16 teams have qualified for the Mobile Legends online game.
The Aces Arena 2021 will conclude on Dec. 31.
