Dimapur, Aug. 18 (EMN): Dimapur Police arrested one alleged accused in connection with Diphupar Police Station case No. 0032/2022, wherein one student of St. Joseph University was hit-and-run over by an unidentified vehicle near the university junction on May 25 last.
A police report issued by the additional deputy commissioner of police (W&J) and assistant PRO of Dimapur Police stated that after thorough investigation and massive efforts, the investigation team could identify and locate the vehicle bearing registration No. AS01 AK 8524 (F/black colour Scorpio) and the alleged accused identified as Dildar Hussain from Nagaon in Assam was arrested on August 18.
The absconding accused was arrested with the assistance of Nagoan traffic branch and Nagoan Sadar Police Station. It stated that the vehicle is presently at Nagoan Police Station in connection with another case and would be brought to Dimapur after completion of all formalities.
Meanwhile, basing on reliable sources of an organised syndicate operating in the vegetable wholesale market in Dimapur, Dimapur Police conducted a special operation and arrested three persons identified as Rakesh Kumar, Islam Uddin and Samir Ali. They were allegedly involved in collecting money from the market and handing over it to various underground factions.
Report stated that a case in this connection has been registered at the East Police Station, Dimapur.
