ACAUT Wokha meets aggrieved Hindi teachers

The ACAUT Wokha unit led by its convener Khyolamo Humtsoe and WCSU president, Chanpemo on Monday met the Aggrieved Hindi Teachers Wokha unit at SDEO’S office compound where the teachers were agitating. In the process of interaction, the aggrieved teachers informed that All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (central body) had collected an amount of Rs 2500 from the graduate teachers and Rs 2000 from the undergraduate teachers of 2012-2013 batch respectively on the promise of upgrading their salaries to the 6th ROP and release of their pending arrears from the date of joining which was deposited into the account of the All Hindi Teachers’ Union president, Rometo Sema.
Furthermore, the aggrieved teachers also stated that the central office bearers requested the members to submit the report from 2012 April to 2014 April as in a manner that their salaries were given as per the 6th ROP for audit purpose.
The ACAUT Wokha unit sought clarification from the president Rometo as to where the collected money has been utilized or kept? The ACAUT Wokha unit and WCSU have appealed to the aggrieved teachers to relax the ongoing agitation for the sake of the students as their final/fourth quarter examination is about to start and also appealed to the State government to release the 6 months pending salaries of the teachers as they have no other source of income.
The ACAUT Wokha unit general secretary, Renbi Ngullie has also appealed to the aggrieved teachers and all the government servants to always seek proper clarification from the concerned authority (in case of any deduction) as to ‘why the amount has been deducted from their accounts as they have every right to know the reason. The aggrieved teachers also lamented that till today the Deputy Commissioner Wokha neither his colleagues are bothered to come or visit them.
The ACAUT Wokha unit stated that the concerned officers from the education department were never found in the office premises even though the agitation was going on. The ACAUT Wokha unit also donated light refreshment to the agitating teachers. Meanwhile, the Kyong Eloe Hoho and the Lotha Youth Hoho have also decided to give full support to the aggrieved Hindi teachers until justice is given.
