Dimapur, December 28

After the arrest of the main accused, ‘Capt.’ Nagaho Ayemi of NSCN-K, responsible for hurling a bomb at M/s KT Gas Agency, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur on night of December 22, the ACAUT Nagaland has demanded that the NSCN-K publicly clarify as to why it is engaging in terror activities. Media cell of ACAUT, in a release on Sunday, also lauded Dimapur district administration and Dimapur police for promptly arresting the accused.
Stating that the culprit happened to be ‘Capt.’ Nagaho Ayemi of NSCN-K who was threatening to explode grenades in the business establishments who refused to pay up, the ACAUT condemned this wanton act of terror by an NSCN-K cadre upon a civilian and his establishment.
The ACAUT said the Naga people have noted with pain that NSCN-K had in the past exploded grenades at various places on several occasions causing death and injuries and demeaning the pride of Naga national movement for money. “NPGs creating mayhem in public places by throwing grenades with a view to create maximum casualty and spread fear psychosis is alien to Naga ethos of not harming women, children and innocent people under any circumstances,” it stated.
Noting that even during the height of Indo- Naga conflict in the 1950s and early 1960s, captured Indian soldiers were treated with respect, the ACAUT said it is simply unbelievable that a Naga revolutionary group could target innocent civilians with bombs as the NSCN-K is doing now.
