Dimapur, November 10
The ACAUT Nagaland condemned the assault at gunpoint the driver of Wokha bound passenger vehicle (Tata Sumo) on October 21 Zonal taxi counter, Kohima allegedly by NSCN (R) cadres led by one Abemo and demanded the Kohima and Wokha police to immediately arrest the accused and his henchmen failing which the ACVA will take recourse to any action in public interest.
Not contented with beating him black and blue, the cadres forcefully extracted Rs. 5000 from the taxi driver, said a statement issued by Media Cell, ACAUT Nagaland.
“The ACAUT cannot but be surprised that even after a lapse of almost 20 days the culprit is still at large. To make it even most galling, the so called NSCN (R) cadre has even threatened the president of ACVA with death for standing up for his assaulted union member for which the ACVA has filed an FIR and rightly so.”
The statement said, “The ACVA is a core support organisation of ACAUT Nagaland and as an organisation having concern for the well-being of Nagas and its land, the ACVA has resolved not to pay any form of taxes to any of the factions till the factions unite as per the slogan “One Government One Tax.”
The ACAUT Nagaland also supported the emergency meeting resolution of ACVA that unless the erring cadre returns the extorted money, the same will be realized from the relatives of the cadre.
