ACAUT acknowledges public for their support

OVERWHELMED by the huge turnout of the public at its public awareness rally held on October 31, the Action Committee against Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) said overwhelming turnout for the rally was simply an emphatic statement of support to it by the Naga people.Acknowledging the support of the public, the ACAUT said any organisation representing the grassroots is dependent upon public support.
It said the signature campaign was a huge success too with Olympic bronze medalist MC Mary Kom appending her signature in support along with thousands of others representing the churches, colony organisations, student bodies, youth organisations, schools and colleges, political parties, NGOs, etc.
The committee expressed gratitude to the media for the coverage right from the start of the signature campaign till the rally day, the media houses for free advertisement, the printing presses for donating banners and posters, the Naga Blog for keeping vigil around Clock Tower and volunteering work on rally day, WSBAK and DBPF for informing all its members to attend the rally, Ao Youth organisation and DABA youth department for mass social work at Clock Tower and donating car stickers, Business Association of Nagas (BAN) for donating bottled drinking water and banners, DCCI and its frontal organisations for donation in cash, the schools and colleges for shutting down in solidarity, the business community for downing shutters in solidarity, the Zuhneboto Youth Organisation for sending more than 200 youths for the rally, the Wokha Youth Organisation for sending members to the rally, the chamber of commerce of other districts for sending representatives, members of the Nagaland Motorcycle Club and cyclists for partaking in Free & Voluntary Bicycle Rally, Crescendo for sound systems, Pixel Craft for videography, Truck Union for the stage, the tribal leaders and youth organisations for mobilizing support, the students for participating, Citicable and Global chapter for coverage, all electronic media for the coverage and the general public for turning up in thousands for the rally.
It made special mention of the speakers and leaders of the various mass-based organisations for giving direction to the Naga people.
