The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its probabilistic forecast for July 2023 in terms of temperature suggests that normal to above normal maximum temperatures are likely over most parts of the country

DIMAPUR — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its probabilistic forecast for July 2023 in terms of temperature suggests that normal to above normal maximum temperatures are likely over most parts of the country, except some areas of northwest and peninsular India where below normal maximum temperatures are likely.

The IMD’s monthly rainfall and temperature outlook bulletin for the month of July also reported that rainfall over the country as a whole for July 2023 is most likely to be normal. Also the spatial distribution suggests that normal to above normal rainfall is most likely over most areas of central India and some areas of Northeast and Northwest India.

The IMD’s probabilistic weather forecast also stated that the Northeast state of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura from July 3 to the 5th have to be watchful of thunderstorm and lightning while Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya have to be on alert for heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning. For July 6, no warnings have been marked on the bulletin for Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura while Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya have to be watchful of heavy rain.

In the month of July, Nagaland is expected to receive 10-20 mm of rainfall per day, which is a normal rainfall, as per the IMD probabilistic forecast for July.
