About 4183 women-owned MSME in Nagaland

DIMAPUR: Nagaland has a total of 10895 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) registered at Udyam portal, out of which 4183 were women-owned MSMEs as on March 13, 2023.

According to the Udyam registration portal, the total number of MSMEs in India was 147,500,018, out of which 27,75,390 were owned by women.

This was informed by the Minister of State for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on March 16.

When considering the registration of women-owned MSMEs registrations in the portal across Northeast states, Assam has the highest number of registrations with 57891, followed by Manipur with 18411, Mizoram with 5766, Tripura with 4391, Nagaland with 4183, Meghalaya with 2901, Arunachal Pradesh with 2166 and Sikkim with 1637.

The Minister stated that as of February 28, 2023, a total of 340,013 women-owned enterprises had been provided credit guarantees under the Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGS) in India in the year 2022-23, with a total value of INR 14,247.24 crore.

As per the Minister’s statement, in Nagaland, 609 women-owned enterprises had received credit guarantees under the CGS as of February 28, 2023, with a total value of INR 37.51 crore.

In terms of distribution of women-owned enterprises that received credit guarantees under the CGS in Northeast states, Assam received the highest amount with INR 277.22 crore, followed by Meghalaya with INR 39.50 crore, Arunachal Pradesh with INR 38.64 crore, Nagaland with INR 37.51 crore, Manipur with INR 34.80 crore, Tripura with INR 25.03 crore, Mizoram with INR 22.32 crore, and Sikkim with INR 14.34 crore, as of February 28, 2023.

As of February 28, 2023, a total of 26,241 women-owned enterprises across India had received margin money subsidy under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), out of which 175 projects were undertaken by women in Nagaland.

Ministry of MSME also implements International Cooperation scheme (IC), which aims at capacity building of MSMEs for entering export market by facilitating their participation in international exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, seminars, buyer-seller meets abroad as well as providing them with actionable market-intelligence and reimbursement of various costs involved by export of goods and services.

It also mentioned that under the IC scheme, during the financial year (2022-23), as on March 13, 2023, a total of 57 women entrepreneurs have been assisted for participation in international exhibitions or trade fairs held abroad.
