Aboi KVK organises seminar for farmers

[caption id="attachment_168046" align="alignnone" width="550"] Officers from the Aboi KVK and trainees pose for group photograph after the seminar on March 12.[/caption] Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon (Aboi), has organised a farmers’ seminar on the theme of “Climate resilient sustainable agriculture approach” at KVK campus in Aboi town under National Innovations Climate Resilient in Agriculture- Technology Demonstration Component (NICRA-TDC) on March 12. The seminar was conducted with the aim to enhance the adaptive capacity and skill upgradation of the farming community. Assistant chief technical officers from KVK namely Dr. MS Sachan (Genetics & Plant Breeding) and Dr. Paihem Michui (Animal Science) spoke on various aspects of climate change, impacts of climate change, disaster management, adaptation to climate change, natural resource management for enhancing the adoptive capacity, efficient cultivars and cropping systems, livestock and its strategies for adaptation, resource conservation technologies, nursery raising and kitchen gardening for nutritional security during the seminar. The programme was chaired by ACTO (Animal Sciences), while ACTO (GPB) pronounced the vote of thanks. Altogether, 38 farmers and farm women have benefitted from the seminar.
