DIMAPUR — The closing ceremony of the 37th annual sports meet of Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) was held at Khehoi village local ground, with Mughapu V Yepthomi, advisor-cum-consultant of Global Network Group and vice president of Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA), as the guest of honour.

The Ato Area Sports Association (AASA), in a press release, informed that the five-day sports meet included football, volleyball and badminton disciplines.

The guest of honour, in his address, complimented the AASA for promoting the U-16 football tournament, and also reminded that “through sports one becomes disciplined and civilised.”

Results of AASA sports meet

Football: Champions – Hozukhe village; first runners up – H Khehoyi village; best defender – Khevishe (H Khehoyi village); best player  – Kiboto (H Khehoyi village); best goalkeeper – Tokato Kiba (Hozukhe village)

Volleyball (Men): Champions – Loyir A; first runner-up – Loyir B; best player – Tolun (Loyir B)

Volleyball (Women): Champions – Viheto village; first runner-up – Hozukhe village; best player – Rosy (Hozukhe village)

Badminton (Men): Champions – Viheto village; first runner-up – H Khehoyi B; best player – Ikamu (Nihokhu village)

Badminton (Women): Champions – Hozukhe village; first runner-up -Loyir village; best player – Silika (Hozukhe village)
