Dimapur, Nov. 4 (EMN): The head Gaon Burah of Purana Bazar Village in Dimapur has appealed to the Food and Civil Supply authorities in Dimapur to restore ‘PHH ration cards’ of Y Achumi Purana Bazar village fair price shop.
The ration cards for said shop are stated to have been withheld from availing benefits due to ‘issue of Aadhaar seeding,’ a representation to the authorities stated.
Head GB Pitu Mech of Purana Bazar village issued a copy of a letter on Monday stating the appeal. The letter was addressed to the director of Food & Civil Supply in Dimapur.
According to the letter, the PHH ration card holders of the Purana Bazar village fair price shop had submitted all Aadhaar details to the establishment ‘for seeding,’ in accordance with the directives of “your good office.”
‘When enquired about the reason why the benefits of the ration card holders have been withheld it is understood that the Aadhaar seeding is on the process of being seeded by your office,’ (Sic) the letter explained.
‘Withholding the benefits of the ration card holders on the contention of not being seeded or on the process by the office is not just, because the beneficiaries have submitted their Aadhaar card before the deadline set up by the office ie., April 2019.’
The latter stated that the establishment’s negligence should not be a reason to deter beneficiaries from availing the benefits.
‘The negligence of the office cannot victimise the legitimate benefits of the PHH ration card holders as the beneficiaries have met the demands of the office in submitting all the Aadhaar cards for the perusal of the office,’ the letter stated.
The Food and Civil Supply authorities are requested to take note of the grievance and restore the ration cards of the beneficiaries and release the benefits from November in the interest of ration card holders, the letter stated.
‘In the event of the right to benefits of the ration card holders being deprived we shall be compelled to address the issue at the appropriate forum for redress,’ the letter added.
