Aadhaar enrolment in Nagaland smooth, says UIA

Dimapur, Nov. 16 (EMN): The Unique Identification Authority of India at Guwahati informs that the Aadhaar enrolment process in Nagaland is ‘going on smoothly in all the districts.’Dimapur, Nov. 16 (EMN): The Unique Identification Authority of India at Guwahati informs that the Aadhaar enrolment process in Nagaland is ‘going on smoothly in all the districts.’The establishment issued a press release on Nov. 16 informing that the state’s government was ‘making rigorous effort to enrol the balance population at the earliest’ keeping in view of the importance of the Aadhaar number. “In a bid to cover the left-out villagers / residents living in remotest part of Nagaland, the district administration had earlier conducted enrolment through camp-mode to facilitate Aadhaar enrolment in order to ensure sweep enrolment,” the press release. Apart from this, it added, the Aadhaar enrolment / update centres have been established at permanent enrolment centre i.e., deputy commissioner, ADC, and SDO offices etc., ‘so that it would be convenient for the local people to easily get enrolled for Aadhaar.’Recently, the department of Financial Services had instructed all the scheduled commercial banks to set up Aadhaar enrolment/update centres in one out of ‘their’ 10 branches, the press release stated. ‘Already State Bank of India, Allahabad Bank and Syndicate Bank has set up Aadhaar enrolment / update centres at their respective Dimapur branch. Other banks are also in process to start Aadhaar enrolment soon. Officials of the department of Post have also been trained by UIDAI regional office for undertaking Aadhaar enrolment. They are also expected to start Aadhaar enrolment / updating in their respective post office branches.’As per Section 7 of Aadhaar Act of 2016 the Central government or state government may use Aadhaar as an identifier for delivery of various subsidy / benefit / services to the residents for which the expenditure is incurred from or the receipt there from forms part of, the Consolidated Fund of India.
