A women injured in drunken driving case

Kohima, July 1 (EMN):
In a case of drunken driving, an occupant of Maruti Alto bearing register number NL-07C-5236 was reported to have hit one Scooty and three other vehicles near High school junction area in Kohima on June 30 while trying to overtake other vehicles.

While confirming about the incident, Kohima police told Eastern Mirror that the incident took place at around 2:30 pm. It was informed that a women was also injured during the incident while the barricades put up by the police for traffic management was also damaged. The victim was reportedly rushed to GIVF hospital for treatment.

The police also informed that the driver was later arrested at 6 pm below NBCC convention centre. The driver was in an inebriated condition at the time of his arrest. He was identified as Viketoulie (32) from Phekerkriema village in Kohima district.

Kohima police has registered a case against the person at North Police station, Kohima, and further investigation is on till the filing of this report.
