A night to remember- Pond’s Eclectic Model Hunt 2014

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n front of a packed crowd at ITA Machkhowa auditorium, Pond’s Eclectic Model Hunt 2014 Winner, Emika J. Pakyntein from Shillong, was crowned by the Managing Director of Eclectic Publications, Tanushree Hazarika and Boxer Shiva Thapa. The 1st Runner-up was awarded to Sneha Biswa from Shillong, while the 2nd Runner-up was awarded to Daisy Deuri from Guwahati. The panel of judges included well-known names from the entertainment industry across the Northeast such as popular actor Kopil Bora, Boxer Shiva Thapa, Super Model from Nagaland Opang Jamir, Social Activist from Meghalaya HasinaKharbhih and Fashion Industrialist Julie Deb judged the charismatic event.
The contest was enlivened by an impressive and diverse line up of talents from the region. A thousand-plus crowd cheered as Guwahati based rapper The Konflated Poets performed at the inaugural sequence. Delhi based singer and song writer Borkung Hrangkhawlset the stage on fire with his powerful songs.
The Pond’s Eclectic Model Hunt believes in grooming young women of the Northeast for becoming empowering role models of beauty, health and leadership. The event was managed by Tattva Creations Pvt Ltd.
The event was started with paying tribute to the departed souls in recent violence across the state and the state anthem ‘O murapunardex’.
Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member, KarbiA nglong Autonomous Council, Diphu was the Chief Guest of the evening and Apurba Kumar Patar, Chairman, ALPCO was the Guest of Honour.
